Here you will find stories written by the students in Ms. Ross's First Grade Class. After reading Thundercake , by Patricia Polacco, we wrote our own rainy day stories. Ms. Ross edited our rough drafts and we copied our final draft and drew an illustration. Ms. Ross displayed them on the bulletin board.  Once upon a time there was a big promise land where it never rained before. It was a very sunny place. It was almost spring. You know what they say, "April showers bring May flowers." And the next day it rained and it brought flowers. By: Rachael  One day I went to my babysitter's house in the summer. It rained. We had to stay inside and we couldn't go in the pool. We played with the dog. By: Lauren  I had a dog inside my house and it was raining and then it was over. My dog slept all day. By: Hunter One day I was out and it was raining outside. When I went out it was raining. After I was seeing thunder and I counted to ten and then it thundered again then I counted to 1-2-3-4-5. By: Kane Once upon a time I was in bed and I was sleeping. Then I heard thunder. I was scared. I ran upstairs to my living room where my dad sleeps. I slept there. Then I heard another thunder happen. I rain up to my mom's room. I slept there. Then I heard another noise up there so I ran back to my dad's couch. I was not scared anymore so I went back to sleep. I felt something tickle my foot. I was scared again. I went backto my mom's bed. I was very tired. I went to sleep. Then I felt something tickle my foot but I was too tired so I just moved my foot and looked under the covers and there was nothing there so I decided to stay in my mom's room. My dad wondered what happened. He got frightened because I was not in my bed. He went upstairs to my mom's room and I was there. He wondered ifI was sleep walking or scared. He let me sleep. He is the nicest dad in the world. By: Sara It was Easter. It started to rain and it started to thundering. Then the Easter bunny got wet and then we didn't have Easter. The End. By: Kara Once I was in my house and the house was tilting so I carried my Pokemon but my Pickachu didn't stay in the Pokeball. It was raining so we dug a hole and all my Pokemon fell out so we had sleeping bags. When it was morning we went into the house. That is the end. Link ran in to the market and bought a blue candle so he can go back to Kokiri Forest to go in the lost woods to find Saria.He found her and then he went to Dodongo Cavern and beat him. By: David On the Easter Egg Hunt it was raining so I had to go home. I wish it would not rain but it did. Nikki's friend was having fun. By: Jesse One day Kirby was out in a storm. Kirby was sweating and the storm included rain. Samus was Kirby's victim. Samus was sweating Samus was charging up. By: Benny One day a lynk was walking in a field and then a thunder shower came to the field and the lynx climbed a tree. The thunder shower stopped while he was coming. They made thunder cake and they had lemonade. By: Erin One summer I was helping my mom in her garden. I was helping her in the garden and watching my brother and baby sister on the playset. I had to watch my baby sister on the playset because she might go down the big slide without somebody. She might get hurt. I have to watch my brother. He might get on the swing and need to get pushed. A few days ago it started to rain so my mom couldn't do what she wanted to do. I couldn't help her. We couldn't play on our playset.
