Ms. Ross started reading Little House on the Prairie
, by Laura Ingalls Wilder on the first day of school. She read a chapter a day. It was 334 pages long! She finished it on October 15, 2001. We loved hearing all the adventures of Laura and her family. Ms. Ross would not show us any of the illustrations; we had to imagine the story in our minds. Here are some of the activities we did when the book was done.

Little House on the Prairie Literacy Center Since we enjoyed the story so much, Ms. Ross made a "Little House" Literacy Center for us to do during Guided Reading Groups. Here is what it included.
- Lincoln Logs to build the "Little House"
- A collection of Little House on the Prairie picture books to read/browse.
- Writing paper to write about the Ingalls family, using our Word Wall and Little House word bank
