We read the story Fun With Fish in our reading book. It was non fiction and had some great photographs of fish. Below you will find a few different activities we did with fish.

We used markers to color in several different types of fish for our ocean display. We looked in the story from our book "Fun With Fish" for some examples of the bright colors that some fish can be. We only use markers for special projects, so this was a lot of fun for us!

There were several different types of fish in the story Fun With Fish. Ms. Ross chose three of them and we had to pick our favorite one. Although we like all of them, the "mad" fish, was the most popular.

The Fish That Goes Fishing
We made our very own deep sea anglers! These are fish that live in the very bottom of the sea where it is as dark as night. The angler gets its name from the long, modified dorsal spine which is tipped with a light producing organ known as a photophore. Like many other deep water fish, the angler uses this organ like a lure to attract its prey. It will flash its light on and off while waving it back and forth like a fishing pole. When the prey fish gets close enough, the angler snaps it up with its powerful jaws!
