We completed a mini-unit on Families. Everyone loves talking about their families. We read stories, made class books, and did different graphs about families. We had lots of fun sharing our real families with our school family!

Word Bank
We generated a list of family members. Ms. Ross wrote them all on a big piece of chart paper. It is hanging in our room. Now, when we are writing in our journals and need to know how to spell a family member word, we just look at the list!

Family Tree
Everyone brought in a picture of their family. Ms. Ross taped them to the apples and "hung" the apples on the tree. Everyone who walks by stops to check out all of the interesting family photos.

Brothers and Sisters
Here is a Venn Diagram showing who has brothers, who has sisters, who has both, and who is an only child. We noticed we had some people in each category. The category with the most was BOTH brothers and sisters.
